Great North Run

I'm fundraising for...

In 2011, at 19 and just starting university, I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I went from feeling invincible to managing painful joints, flareups, and relentless fatigue. After a long period of trial and error, adalimumab finally gave me the stability I needed to move forward. I refused to let the condition define my limits, and in 2018 I achieved one of my biggest goals — joining the police.

In 2024, I shifted my focus to rebuilding my physical health, and fitness became the source of inner strength I thought I’d lost. Now I’m training for my first half marathon. For me, it’s more than a race — it’s a celebration of the treatment that helped me reclaim my life and the determination that’s carried me through every setback.

I was able to complete 19km run last weekend, a distance I never thought I would achieve. Although my training is not yet complete I feel much more confident in tackling the GNR
