Charity Places
What is a charity place?
Team Arthritis UK is made up of charity place runners and ballot place runners. Charity place runners are a big part of the team, and every year dedicate to raising an incredible amount towards a future free from arthritis. You’ll have a fundraising target of £400 but we will be here to support you every step of the way.
What's the registration fee?
It costs £40 to sign up for a charity place.
Is there a fundraising deadline?
We ask that all your incredible fundraising is donated by a month after the event, so that’s the 13th of October 2026.
Ballot Places
What is a ballot place?
Each year a ballot is run by the organisers and a number of lucky runners are successful in securing one of these places. You can use that ballot place to support Arthritis UK and support a future free from arthritis.
Is there a registration fee for ballot places?
As you have already paid for your place with the organisers, signing up to join the team with your ballot place is free.
When is the ballot?
To find out more about the ballot, head to the Great North Run website.
Do I have a fundraising target?
You won’t have a set fundraising target, so raise as much as you can. Every penny counts towards a future free from arthritis. We will be here to support you, with fundraising tips and tricks along the way.
