Great North Run

I'm fundraising for...

Over 10 million adults, young people and children live with arthritis. And yet, arthritis is still poorly understood and far too little is done. That’s why I’m fundraising for Arthritis UK – the leading arthritis charity, changing lives through research, campaigning and support.

Helens running again

Thursday 14th May
Hello ! . Thanks for looking ! I was diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthiritis about 16 months ago.
For a at leat 8 months i flet so awful. I couldnt sleep . My joints all hurt , i was limping , i couldnt open doors , put my shoes , sleeves or leggings on without pain . My ankles and wrists and feet were swollen .
I ve tried various drugs with some improvements. This spring  I've started running again , my ankles are being kind to me and although there are days when the sports bra is a huge battle to get on with my ridiculous wrists . I want to attempt to raise money to support others with this and to fund research. There is no cure for RA , but remission is the goal for me and for many others . So the great north run is my first run in a few years ..many might remember i have ran marathons before , ok so im probably going to be taking twice as long now .. but wish me luck ! And donate if you have a fiver to spare ! Thank you !
