Great North Run

Young people suffering with Arphiritus

Here's a short blog you could use on your fundraising page:
Running for Arthritis Awareness
My name is Duncan, I'm 36 years old, and I'm taking on the Great North Run to raise awareness of arthritis in younger people.
Many people think arthritis only affects older adults, but I developed severe hip arthritis in my late 20s and early 30s. The condition gradually took away simple everyday activities that most people take for granted. Walking for more than five minutes became painful, and even putting on my socks was a struggle.
At 34, I underwent a total hip replacement. It was life-changing. The operation gave me my mobility, independence, and quality of life back. Today, I'm able to do things that once seemed impossible—including training for the Great North Run.
By sharing my story, I hope to raise awareness that arthritis can affect people of any age and that early diagnosis and treatment can make a huge difference.
Every donation, no matter how small, helps support awareness, research, and people living with arthritis. Thank you for your support and for helping me make a difference.
