David's 'foolish' challenge! for 2026!

Wednesday 19th Nov
I am raising money for the all so important charity Arthritis UK. So many of my family - both young and older - have suffered with the disease for many decades. As a long overdue convert to long distance running, at 64 and with my own legs stiff and aching more than ever, I've " foolishly" chosen to tackle running a half marathon in aid of trying to make a real difference.  
Research into drugs is so important for this painful often 'hidden' disease. It is because of the medication required that people can often carry on living with dignity and getting the best out of life. 
I may be a 'runner' in my own right, but let me be totally honest, it doesn't come easy!! Following on from some recent  experiences, I am now getting ready to
run the Great North Run in September 2026 to continue to raise funds for Arthritis research. 
I am setting myself the challenge of a 2 hr 30 minute or less half marathon time. But with MY ageing legs, who knows what will happen?? Any donations and messages of support are very gratefully received.Thank you so much for reading this. It really means a lot. Best wishes. David.
