Charity Places

What is a charity place?

add remove

Team Arthritis UK is made up of charity place runners and ballot place runners. Charity place runners are a big part of the team, and every year dedicate to raising an incredible amount towards a future free from arthritis. You’ll have a fundraising target of £3000 but we will be here to support you every step of the way.

Do I have to apply for a charity place?

add remove

Due to a high demand and limited places, we run an application process for our London Marathon charity places. You can apply for a charity place here.

What's the registration fee?

add remove

If you are successful in getting a charity place the registration fee is £100.

How long after submittng my application will I find out the outcome of my application?

add remove
We aim to review your application and notify you of the outcome within 8 weeks of receipt. However, due to a high volume of applications, this may take a little longer. We hope we won't keep you waiting too long to find out if you have been successful.

What if I'm unsuccessful in acquirng a charity place?

add remove
If we could give everyone a place, we would. Unfortunately, we have limited places and this isn’t possible. If you are unsuccessful in getting a charity place, you have the option to join the waiting list in case a place becomes available. You also have the option to join Team Arthritis UK for a different event. To see other events you could take part in, check out our website here.

What is the fundraising target?

add remove
When you sign up you’ll pledge to raise a minimum of £3000. Your support means we can continue to invest in world-class research, delivering high-quality services and campaigning on issues that matter the most to people with arthritis.

Is there a fundraising deadline?

add remove
We ask that all your incredible fundraising is donated by 2 months after the event, so that’s the 25th of June 2027.

Ballot Places

What is a ballot place?

add remove

Each year a ballot is run by the organisers and a number of lucky runners are successful in securing one of these places. You can use that ballot place to support Arthritis UK and support a future free from arthritis.

Is there a registration fee for ballot places?

add remove

As you have already paid for your place with the organisers, signing up to join the team with your ballot place is free.
