I'm fundraising for Arthritis UK in support of my Mum!
Hi Everyone!
I am Whitney Akem, a student in London.
I will soon be running the Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon (just under 4 weeks now!) in support of Arthritis UK!
This is a charity that is especially close to my heart, as my Mum has been battling arthritis for quite some years now. There have been many difficult times that she's had to push through, both for herself and for us as a family, so being able to raise money and awareness for arthritis pain management and relief is the least I can do.
This isn't just a run to me, it's my way of showing appreciation for my mum and everyone battling arthritis every day, worldwide. It's a silent autoimmune disease that often gets overlooked because it isn't visible, but it's a genuinely difficult condition to manage, especially as people get older.
So please take this page as an opportunity to donate to a cause that's special and important to me, and to many others around the world. Every penny will go towards research and raising awareness!
