Great North Run 2027

I'm fundraising for...

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for my Great North Run! Over 10 million people in the UK live with arthritis, affecting their ability to work, study, care for family, move free from pain and live independently. Yet arthritis is still poorly understood and far too little is done. That’s why Arthritis UK funds life-changing research, supports those affected and campaigns for change. Arthritis UK won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.

Running Through the Pain: Supporting Arthritis UK at the Great North Run 2027

Tuesday 22nd Sep

In March 2026, I was diagnosed with osteoarthritic changes in my right hip. The diagnosis finally explained the pain I had been living with for the previous three years.

While getting answers was a relief, it also made me realize how many people are living with arthritis and its daily challenges. Arthritis affects mobility, independence, and quality of life, yet so much of that struggle remains unseen.

That's why I've chosen to run the Great North Run 2027 for Arthritis UK.

For me, this isn't just about completing 13.1 miles. It's about turning a personal challenge into something positive. Every step I take will be in support of the millions of people affected by arthritis and the vital work Arthritis UK does to fund research, provide support, and raise awareness.

My diagnosis doesn't define me, but it has inspired me.

By taking on the Great North Run, I hope to raise funds, increase awareness, and show that even when faced with challenges, we can keep moving forward.

Thank you for your support. Together, we can help people living with arthritis lead better, fuller lives.
