I'm fundraising for...

Over 10 million adults, young people and children live with arthritis. And yet, arthritis is still poorly understood and far too little is done. That’s why I’m fundraising for Arthritis UK – the leading arthritis charity, changing lives through research, campaigning and support.

Hi Everyone,

As many people close to me know, I was suddenly hit with arthritis which without playing on my tiny violin, was a massive eye opener to those living with it.

At 30 and always being fit it was the last thing I ever thought I’d get at the age I am,  but from my first flare up and a diagnosis a year later… everything went through my mind including changing my career, how I’d continue to do everyday tasks like walking or using stairs in so much pain, but above all was questioning how much it would prevent me doing day to day things with my little boy and not being able to be the funnest dad possible. I was told my personal case was chronic and I genuinely thought I’d be unable to walk in a couple of years time if it went on the way started.

It really is a condition we never think of and only relate it to old people, nearly 3 years after I was first hobbling around looking like I had a stone in my shoe…I can only praise the fact that I’ve finally found a medication that has dramatically helped me, to the point I barely feel like I have an issue and have my old life back.

This is just an opportunity for me to raise some awareness as to how many people suffer silently not knowing the new era medications and to just try to give some back to the research teams that enabled me to even contemplate running again!

Thankyou
